Eventact provides the ability to easily distribute SMS messages to more than 130 countries from the system.
Each message sent incurs a cost based on its destination, with each credit costing approximately $0.015.
Each standard message containing GSM-7 characters (basic Latin characters, such as English letters and numbers) allows 160 characters per SMS. If your message exceeds 160 characters, it will be split into multiple SMS units. In that case, each unit allows 153 characters (since some characters are reserved for joining the parts together).
However, if your message contains Unicode characters (such as emojis, non-Latin characters, or symbols), it uses UCS-2 encoding, and each message allows 70 characters per SMS. Even if the rest of the message is standard English, having just one Unicode character will make the entire message subject to the 70-character limit.
The exact number of SMS units required will depend on the message length and the type of characters used.
If the message contains at least one Unicode character (e.g., emoji, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters), the following limits apply:
Note: Some specific Unicode characters (such as emojis or certain special characters) take up more space, but the general rule is that UCS-2 encoding limits the message to 70 characters per SMS unit.
